Unified Development Code adoption
Edmond is considering a Unified Development Code that would replace its existing zoning, subdivision, site design, and stormwater drainage codes with one consolidated set of rules. Because it governs what can be built, where, and to what standards, the UDC affects homeowners, developers, neighborhoods, and the pace and character of growth citywide. It would still need final City Council adoption.
National Register of Historic Places
An update on Edmond's National Register of Historic Places efforts — listings can boost preservation efforts and heritage tourism downtown.
Massage therapy business specific use permits
Five existing massage businesses came into compliance with new supplemental standards by securing SUPs; all passed 5-0 and head to City Council September 28. The first was conditioned on operating hours of 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Side yard setback variance at 1405 Leawood Drive
A property owner at 1405 Leawood Drive wants permission to build closer to the side property line than the standard setback allows. Neighbors in the area may want to weigh in during the public hearing.
Downtown-area rezone to CBD
A 2.3-acre industrial parcel near the BNSF tracks gets rezoned for mixed residential, commercial and civic uses, consistent with the Edmond Plan's urban neighborhood vision for the area.
Sixty-Six Vines PUD at 1017 South Westminster
A 35-acre event venue, vineyard, and tasting room at 1017 South Westminster won approval 4-1 after nearly two hours of neighbor testimony about noise, traffic, water wells, and outreach.
Sooner Road rezoning continued
A 2.5-acre rezone on Sooner Road was delayed two weeks so the developer can meet with the Clayton Pond and Tuscany HOAs about buffers, noise, and drainage.
