Unified Development Code adoption
Edmond is considering a Unified Development Code that would replace its existing zoning, subdivision, site design, and stormwater drainage codes with one consolidated set of rules. Because it governs what can be built, where, and to what standards, the UDC affects homeowners, developers, neighborhoods, and the pace and character of growth citywide. It would still need final City Council adoption.

Infill duplex PUDs near downtown
Two small infill parcels got PUD zoning for duplexes — one at 101 W Thatcher that's 31 square feet under the normal duplex threshold, and Hirn Corner at 230 E Lincoln with up to eight units. Both reflect Edmond's push for varied housing types near downtown and the university area.

Charter 'freeholder' candidate qualification
The council formally declared that the charter's requirement that candidates own property (be a "freeholder") is against the law and shouldn't disqualify anyone running for mayor or council — and will look at changing the charter.
PUD rezonings draw mayoral opposition
Two rezonings — Lexi's Cottage on 4th Street and Colon Holdings at 2nd and University — passed 4-1 with Mayor Nash opposed.
