Hybrid electric bus purchase
Nearly $455K in federal funds that would have expired will now buy three ramp-equipped buses instead of the delayed transfer center — good news for wheelchair and stroller users Rocco Bonacci says he sees everywhere.
Sewer rehabilitation consent order closed after 30 years
The city is finally out from under the 1995 EPA/ODEQ consent order that stemmed from hundreds of sewer overflows every rainstorm. The catch: about 125 more miles of deteriorated line still need replacing, funded through Propel and rate increases.
Scooter's Coffee water main break claim
A homeowner says crews ignored his directions about where the broken main was, tore up his driveway and brick wall unnecessarily, then denied his $4,843 repair claim. The Council tabled the claim to check whether utility locates were actually done.
