Economic development incentive policy amendment

A local commercial property owner who's spent $370,000 of his own money on improvements asked why the policy change was on consent, why it appeared written for Cheddar's, and whether Mayor Booker has a financial interest in the Cash Road Square property — and asked the council to defer it.

The Back Porch Draft House owner argued public money shouldn't subsidize restaurants that just shift existing dining dollars, and that incentives should target employers raising Lawton's median household income; he urged a no vote.
