Water and Wastewater Rate Study
Water bills for the average household go up about $18 next year and again the year after to fund a water plant expansion from 10 to 30 million gallons a day. The goal is water independence — Edmond currently pays Oklahoma City over $1.5 million a year to reserve water it rarely uses, and that cost is climbing. A new tier targets the heaviest residential users (30,000+ gallons/month, about 3% of customers), and low-income customers get a 25% discount tied to LIHEAP.
Edmond water well exception and resident water supply
Edmond North Estates resident Robert Karum urged the city to protest a Water Resources Board exception allowing four new wells near his neighborhood, saying prior wells dried up local homes' water. He asked for more time to research before the August 31 protest deadline.
Water Restrictions
Edmond just moved to Stage Two water restrictions immediately because of heat and dry weather. If you were about to water your lawn, check the rules first.
