The project architect explained the proposed panels are an elevated aluminum insulated product with concealed fasteners, chosen to give the AeroForge district a modern aerospace look.

The architect principal said the design was coordinated with the chamber, city management, the mayor's office, and Beck Design Group, and that the innovation district is meant to have a distinct, cutting-edge character different from the rest of the city.

The CSI Aerospace representative said the company is years behind on getting a building, is out of space, and needs to grow — hence the tight timeline and the modern high-tech look.
